I’m 95% there in pressing the purchase button for a used Pixel 7a from Swappa so I can install GrapheneOS and have some piece of mind that even if Mr. Cook bends the knee to the Trump administration my data will be protected. Going to sleep on it but after seeing Mr. Cook at the inauguration with the other boot lickers my trust in Apple and their encryption is pretty much shattered.

Switch to Linux
Has someone else already mentioned, just switch to Linux. Linux Mint is a fantastic distribution for new Linux users. Additionally, unless the user needs Windows for a very specific application there is a valid equivalent for almost all Windows applications on Linux.
Linux Mint & Debian
I haven’t had a chance to watch the video yet but even though I’m currently daily driving Debian with Gnome I’m always missing Linux Mint. I think it is the Windows 7 feel, but I’m not sure.
