Just some basic details regarding the new web site design, and content reconciliation, for my online presence. Previously I was using various free services or scripts to handle my various online activities (IE: Twitter/X for microblogging, self-hosted Piwigo gallery installation for images, Blogger for long form….. blogging, etc.). Other than some things I do on GitHub I re-realized/acknowledged that WordPress can handle just about everything. So, re-purposing an old gaming group WordPress design I created a loooong time ago here we are!
The current plan is to keep as much as I can in house on WordPress with some Plugins. One example is that I plan on connecting this website to the fediverse via a plugin so I can microblog on Mastodon through this site. I may do something similar with my gallery and Pixelfed if possible but I haven’t researched the details yet. I have considered having a separate “digital garden” through Obsidian and their online hosting services but I’m going to hold off on that for now.
My biggest focus this time around is sharing my various hobbies, triumphs (and failures), and things that I’ve learned. So, to bring this post to a close this new design is based on the Twenty Twenty-One theme with custom additional CSS.
