Support Pilots and Their Mental Health

https://www.pmhc.org “The Pilot Mental Health Campaign (PMHC) is the only advocacy group dedicated to creating a modern aeromedical system that works for both pilots and passengers. Thanks to the courage of pilot advocates and unprecedented public attention, our movement is finally shedding awareness on the government-imposed culture of fear aviators face every day.”

So I noticed that some of the keys on my Dell XPS 13 9310 (from 2020, not the 2 in 1) were misbehaving. Actually, they are misbehaving as I write this post. Anyway, I’m happy to announce that I was able to look up the details on replacing the keyboard (sadly the keyboard and palm rest are one unit) and picked up a replacement (listed as new) off of Ebay. It won’t be the easiest replacement I’ve done (loooooots of screws) but yay for right to repair!

Goodbye iOS, Hello GrapheneOS

It took some prep and I’m still adjusting but I finally switched back to a Pixel and GrapheneOS in response to the horrific disaster that is currently the USA presidency. I just couldn’t stomach the fact that Tim Cook was at the inauguration and what that could mean for iOS security and privacy.

I’m 95% there in pressing the purchase button for a used Pixel 7a from Swappa so I can install GrapheneOS and have some piece of mind that even if Mr. Cook bends the knee to the Trump administration my data will be protected. Going to sleep on it but after seeing Mr. Cook at the inauguration with the other boot lickers my trust in Apple and their encryption is pretty much shattered.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get some nicer pictures up after the organization is done. I also wanted to thank Darktable Landscapes (https://www.youtube.com/@DarktableLandscapes) for their very… Continue reading Darktable for Linux

Pixelfed Posts

I’m still trying to figure out the reason as to why not all of my photo posts are appearing on Pixelfed servers. I’m not sure if it is user error, something with the ActivityPub plugin, and/or something with WordPress.

And it begins

So I finally started the temp server setup and immediately hit a wall due to formatting issues. Finally got everything set, started copying data over from the old server and realized that my soon to be server solution of HexOS (https://hexos.com) isn’t viable at this time. I need it to support more apps. So at… Continue reading And it begins
